Joya Black – what a wild night!
When you take a sniff of the foot of the cigar, you’ll be tantalised by dark notes – bitter cocoa, dark chocolate, coffee and earth. Perhaps a hint of spice. The dark Mexican San Andrés wrapper literally exudes a full-bodied and distinctive flavour.
Once lit, the cigar is smooth, yet incredibly full-bodied, with notes of dark chocolate, dried fruit and pepper. The cigar is spicy throughout all three thirds. Sometimes less so, sometimes more. Throughout, the spicy note is pleasant and not overpowering. In the second third, you’ll discover sweet cocoa, cedar, coffee and a fading hint of pepper, which begins to intensify again in the third third. The sweet notes recede into the background and earthy and woody notes unfold on the palate.
