Aliados EPC cigars are the result of a collaboration between Oliva and EPC (Ernesto Perez-Carillo). The number of cigars produced is limited by the availability of the tobacco used; this edition was produced in 2022 using tobacco aged for five years. The Sumatra Ecuador wrapper is particularly noteworthy, lending the cigars an exceptionally complex flavour with a finish on the palate that lasts almost as long as the brand’s history; the Nicaraguan binder and filler from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua give the cigar a full body.
Aliados cigars are a revival of the Cuba Aliados cigars founded by Rolando Reyes in Cuba in 1945; following the communist coup in 1968, when his factory was confiscated, he was forced to work in the fields. In 1971, he managed to emigrate to the USA. He resumed cigar production in the USA in 1973 to meet high demand, he moved production to the Dominican Republic in 1978, but as he was not satisfied with the quality, some of the cigars continued to be produced in Miami. Eventually, production moved to Honduras.
